The Art of Kindness Display
The Art of Kindness Display was delivered to Mettawee Community School by Claire Reczek, Gamma and friend Linda Maness. Thanks to the work of Amy Harris, the art teacher and the art work of her past 6th grade students, we have wonderful art pieces to add to this display. The support of principal, Brooke DeBonis, also helped to make this project possible.
This is a message that will be sent home to parents of Mettawee students from Amy Harris in their weekly Messenger-
"For the month of November we are delighted to be showcasing the “Art of Kindness”. In the Spring of 2020, our sixth graders were invited by Claire Reczek, a former literacy specialist at Mettawee, to participate in the project. The students were challenged to draw images of “Kindness”. The students selected five of the pictures to be part of the traveling exhibit. Former students, Alyssa, Breanna, Elijah, Finley and Haedyn have drawings in the collection.
The project is organized by Delta Kappa Gamma VT, a society that promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Students from many schools across the state participated. The display has been in Bennington and will travel to Rutland and then on to Twinfield Union School.
